Terms of service
Gibberfish Classroom · last updated October 10, 2026
These terms cover your use of Gibberfish Classroom at app.gibberfish.app and its Chrome extension (“the service”), run by Josiah Reed (“we”). By making an account or using the service, you agree to them. How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.
Accounts
- Teachers must be adults and may create classes for students they teach. A teacher is responsible for the student accounts they create or invite, for having any permission their school or students’ families require to use the service, and for keeping students’ logins private.
- Students use the service as part of their teacher’s class, under their teacher’s supervision.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Subscriptions
- New teacher accounts get a 30-day free trial with no card required. After that, making new classes and assignments needs a paid subscription; everything already assigned keeps working for students.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel any time from Plan & billing; you keep access until the end of the period already paid for. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Prices are shown before you subscribe. If they change, we will tell you before your next renewal.
- Payments are not refunded for partial periods, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong, email us and we will try to make it right.
Your content
Teachers keep ownership of what they add (stories, instructions, lessons). You give us permission to store and show it to your class so the service can work. Only add material you have the right to use. The stories in the built-in library are original to Gibberfish Classroom; you may assign them to your classes.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the service to break the law, harass anyone, share inappropriate material with students, try to get into other people’s accounts or data, or disrupt the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
Third-party services
Assigned videos play from YouTube, translations come from Google Cloud Translation, and Google Classroom import uses Google’s own sign-in. Those services have their own terms.
The service itself
We work to keep the service running and your data safe, but it is provided “as is”, without warranties, and may change or occasionally be unavailable. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Ending your account
You can stop using the service at any time. To delete your account and its data, email us. We may end the service with reasonable notice; if we do, unused paid time will be refunded.
Changes
If we change these terms in an important way, we will post the new version here and tell teachers before it applies.
